We purchased new cribbing as our wood cribbing was 30+ years old and dry rotting.
The Best-Luther Fire Department was out running calls during the storm. This photo, taken by Rensselaer County, was of us dealing with multiple trees down, wires down, and low hanging wires across the roadway.

During the snow storms, the Best-Luther Fire Department was out and ran 17 calls from trees down, trees on wires, wires down, mutual aid calls, and an alarm activation. One of our members even celebrated his 18th birthday while out running calls!! Thank you to all the members who were able to be out and assist the community during this time. We would also like to thank a few people who stopped to help us clean up a few very large trees.

Best-Luther responded to a reported vehicle fire. Car 1 arrived on scene to two vehicles fully involved on the other side of a small crick. 3-1, a 4x4 engine, was able to drive down to the edge of a crick and through the muddy horse pasture to get as close to the fire as it could. However, firefighters still had to drag 300ft of hose through the crick to reach the fire. Even with many vehicles in close proximity, we were able to limit the flames to 4 cars.
Firefighters covering the vehicles in foam.
3-1, our 4x4 engine that was able to make it through some difficult terrain to extinguish the vehicle fires.
